- Modelling the schools mission and values by being highly visible and authentically supporting desired practices (Well Being Targets, Umbrella Project, Collaborative Team Debrief - Time dedicated in schedule, Connections to Consultants to support PD, Math Lead Training, Instructional Coach Support, Coding/Scratch Workshop Implementation, Art/Music Therapy)
- Strong planning and implementation in building a collaborative culture and distributed leadership (Divisional leads, Math lead training and facilitation, SIT Team, Focus groups, Reflective time spent at Staff mtgs, Debrief, Leadership Team Mtgs - Carizon, Community Facilitation - Carizon
- Responsible for initiating many community supports to support student development and achievement (FNMI speakers, YWCA, Roots of Empathy, Sexual Assault Support Centre, CMHA, University of Waterloo, GRHospital, Music/Art Therapy.)
- Maintained the site budget and processed purchase orders ensuring accountability (Creation of a Resource Room at Carizon, Building of Tangible supports such as Math Manipulatives and PD Texts, Innovation supports.)
- Manages school operations (staffing, budgeting, health and safety and scheduling) effectively
- Implementation of initiatives that support desired practices (Innovation Night, Numeracy Parent Workshop, Cross Panel Partnerships, Cross School Partnership - Innovation, Well Being Umbrella Project, Well Being Target Student Setting)
I am a leader that is on top of the pulse in education. I want to continue learning about what makes student achievement rise. I want to better myself with strategies to share with teachers and parents in how we can best support students and teachers to reach their full potential. I am committed to maintaining partnerships with local universities and community agencies to ensure that we are on the right track. I believe in research and understand that there are many experts in various fields that I can count on if needing support. I will continue to reach out to those that will help us to achieve our goals and align our mission. I do believe however that the staff and students are the people that determine where the priorities should be placed at within a school. I want to ensure that I listen to staff and students clearly and offer resources that will assist in making the school a viable learning community in which all children feel valued, loved and have the opportunity to use their God-given gifts to reach their full potential.
